One of a Kind Decorative Wooden Mask - Harvest

This one of a kind wooden mask was hand-carved at the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative in Kenya. After carving the form by hand, the artisans finish parts of the mask through a traditional burnishing process that lightly chars the wood, giving it a deep, smoky tone.

While made for decorative use, the design echoes the storytelling and ceremonial art of the region.
